About Me

I have always had a passion for helping clients who are struggling with anxiety, and I am deeply invested in helping them bring about change in their lives. I recognize the impact that it can have on functioning in daily life.

I love that my line of work allows me to hear client’s lived experiences, be creative in adapting evidence-based strategies to fit with these experiences, and lets me help them achieve their goals.

My Values

Collaboration

It’s important to me that we work together to help you meet your therapy goals. I enjoy working as a team by adapting evidence-based practices so that they align with your lived experiences.

 Insight

It’s difficult to make changes if it’s hard to see what’s getting in the way.  Often times, this is related to specific behaviour or thinking patterns. I can help you identify the patterns that may be keeping you stuck so you can move forward.

 Warmth

The best therapy outcomes happen when clients feel that they are in a safe space. I approach therapy sessions with warmth and validation in order to create a safe space for you to open up and express yourself in a genuine way. This helps build the therapy relationship and ultimately helps you meet your goals.

Empowerment

It’s important to me that by engaging in therapy, you feel as though you can regain control over problematic patterns so you can gain a sense of empowerment.

Education and training

I completed both my M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Lakehead University, and completed my clinical psychology residency in Calgary, Alberta. In Calgary, I specialized in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for Anxiety Disorders and Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD.

Following my residency, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), where I supervised graduate students in the provision of CBT for Generalized Anxiety Disorder in a research trial.

Since this time, I have continued my love of learning about the treatment of anxiety through ongoing professional workshops and attendance of conferences, and clinical consultation.
